Would anyone like to help make a "Children of Men" A1 preset?

This is the small, very very quick, test that I did. This is Colorista. Check it out and let me know what you think.

The blowout highlights hurt it. The examples I've seen from CoM show that details are very well preserved in the shadows and highlight area. A bit more green would help.

Okay, it's 4 in the morning and I'm up doing Children of Men color correcting. haha. I'm a geek. :) Regardless, I don't think that the footage that I'm using lends itself to be color corrected to those specifications. The whites are too white in the first picture there. So when I drop the whites, I can't escape the picture getting darker and I can't increase exposure because of harsh grain, which ruins it. The second picture doesn't look bad, but in every picture that the Dammit Janet posted, there's an overcast (it looks). My footage was a sunny day. Had I shot my footage with the intention to color correct to Children of Men color specifications, I might be able to pull something off. But with my limited talent and this late at night, this is as good as it gets for today. Haha. What do you think?

My own opinion is that qazwsx's second picture looks the best and AMAZING. Thanks, qazwsx.

From other thread.

Color is number 1. 5k a seat one year ago, thats the cost of my mac pro. Worth every cent.

Actually looking at it now - I think the reds could be boosted a tad more. Please try to remember this shot has been taken from the above compressed image, altered and rerendered. its suffering.

i think you exposure is your enemy here. Absolutely 0 sky detail so it looks painted. Even then you could probably swap it out and still save it. Especially easy in this shot where its unlikey there is going to be any motion occuring there.
