Would a 50mm prime look zoomed on a T2i?

I bought a 50mm 1.8 prime for my T2i because of the low light stuff it is capable of doing, its on its way. I have heard it is hard to work with since you have to stand a far distance back to get everything in the frame. My question is, do you guys find it hard to work with the 50mm?

depends on the environment that you're shooting. On occasion it is, especially when people are prone to walking closer to the camera. If you're going to shoot "incognito" then it may be fine. If you're shooting an event and people begin to walk up on you, then its not that great and I'd suggest something in the ~20-30 range.. That way they're not that far away and you can wave or tell them 'step back'. @15-20ish they can get damn near kiss the lens and you're good. w/ the 50, you're pretty far away to the point that they think you're pretty "far away" and you're also prone to people crossing your path since they dont think you're shooting 'cause "your far away".

Ultimately it depends on the environment that you're shooting in.

I sometimes find it frustrating because my 50mm lens is broken into two pieces. I have to pop both ends together every time I want to shoot... lol.
