worst day ever...

So did you beat the shi* out of any of them? LOL.:zombie_smiley:

no, but there were several i wish i could have. i ended up having to restrain a few of them, the craziest time being on the floor of a bus.

Let's see - Pizza Hut for a year, left every day smelling like oil and pepperoni. It took 10 years before I could eat their pizza and breadsticks again.

One summer I tried to work at a factory making MREs. We were supposed to work 6 days a week with Sunday off - first day on the job they told us production was down so it was going to be 13 days on, 1 day off, all summer. Had to stand at an assembly line for 10 hours, picki up an MRE to check it for holes and tears, throw the bad ones over my shoulder and drop the good ones back on the line. You had about 1.5 - 2 seconds for each one. I worked there for 2 days before I was even trained on what to look for, if you talked to anyone standing next to you they'd move you to another part of the line, and I found out I was making $1 less per hour than everyone else because I was "college" help and wasn't a permanent hire (never mind that I was doing exactly the same job as everyone else there). I left after 6 days - they called several times begging me to come back and offered to give me the extra $1/hour. They were always hiring.

Telemarketing in college - stayed for about 3 days until I realized my soul was in danger of dying.

Worked stock at Victoria's Secret for a couple years. Awesome job, right? Sexy lingerie, beautiful women...not quite. They'd throw several hundred pieces, seemingly at random, into a box and you have to stand on a concrete floor for 8 hours trying to sort by color, size, and style, then they'd send a girl to the back to restock the floor - they didn't want a guy on the floor if they could avoid it because it might make the customers uncomfortable. Never mind that every customer assumed I was gay if I was allowed to work at Victoria's Secret. The worst part - if you came across the product "off the job", you don't immediately think "that's hot". You think, "Hey, I recognize those. Sku # 142502948000. We got a huge shipment of those yesterday!" Kind of sucks the fun out of it.

Best job? Besides doing what I do now, it had to be working for my best friend in a frame shop. We were basically paid to hang out all day and tell people it would cost $400 to frame the 8x10 picture of their kid.

I worked here for 1 day in the 80's.

I had to climb down into huge vats and manually dig steaming sludge off the inner walls and floor and fill baskets that were hauled up.
We then would take the sludge outside and dump them into a large ground pool of constantly steaming sludge. This was in the summer.

In the vat we had an air hose dropped inside so we could breath and to cool ourselves off. It was hot in there.
Radioactive signs everywhere. Our boots and lower pants were literally disintegrated by next morning.

I still wonder about if I picked anything up from that place.

I worked at a chrysler dealership for a month, right before they went under. We had thw worst month in sales history. I only made $600 the entire month, working 6 days a week. Everyone there lied constantly, but I guess I should have expected that. I quit after I had somene on their way to buy a car and one of the other salesmen bought it out from under me. I didn't know it had happened until the girl showed up to buy it and hey told me one of the other guys just bought it. They then made me go tell the girl why I didn't call her to let her know the car was sold and she had to drive 3 hours for nothing. I quit the next day, then they tried to tell me I owed them money.

My current job is just as terrible. I work a a portrait studio, taking pictures of babies all day long. It's just uncooperative, screaming kids all day long. During christmas we would do over 100 appointments per day. Doing that meant we got no breaks during our 13 hour shifts. At the end of the day we would clock out for 30 minutes for lunch, clock back in afterwards only to immediately clock back out and leave. It's picking back up again with easter pictures. Even with all that, it would still be tollorable if not for the manager.

We don't know which days we're off until the week of, and don't know the times we work those days until the day before. Sometimes that's even wrong. We'll have days where we come in to work only to find that our schedule was change after we left the night before, and without notification. We also overbook appointments and don't have enough photographers to take the pictures. And our boss is the worst human being alive. I hate this place.

editing some footage for a psychotic evangelist at his home, only did it cause it paid cash. everyday he would try to convert me and tell me how anybody and everybody was evil, so on and so forth.

keep in mind i served 6 years in the Marines, and did a tour in Iraq. I still think this was my worst job.

CHRIST COMPELS YOU! HEATHEN! :furious3:

Even worse than "where are they!?" Lol.

Or worse than the 74 hour no sleep music video marathon spanning 4 states and 3 bands?

Hahaha....

either working in the kitchen at a catfish rest.

or, working 411 for cell phone users... driving while calling, bad signal, angry, in a hurry... and our bonuses were based on how quickly we did the calls (along with meeting their stupid criteria.... we couldn't call an 800 number an 800 number, or a toll free number... we had to call it the "main number", which usually just confused people and added at least 5 seconds to calls that needed to average less than 32 seconds to make more than 8/hr)

My last call (which was par for the course) was a lady screaming and cursing at me b/c she wanted Zero's subs, I, heard hero's on the first time she said it... I said "that's Hero with an H", and she was like... zero, zero, zero... you dummy... i want zero's.... I told her to pull her ass over and go find it herself, and turned in my headset right there...

Not like it was a hard job.. but it sure did leave me hating everyone by the end of every day.

Later,
jason

Worst job ever? Ive had some great ones, but one stands out as the worst.
I was hired by a marketing firm that wanted me to go door to door selling promotional cards to certain area attractions(restaurants, theaters, etc). WHat made it horrible, was I found out that you had to RE-walk through the neighborhoods going back to houses where no one answered the door, then go back to the ones with a "Supervisor" that refused to buy a hugely expensive card and make the HARD sell.

I ended up calling a friend after an hour of walking with my trainer to come pick me up and take me back to my car.
