Early go at the 7D. Just used the ol' 28-135 and tossed this together in a night. Any tips/suggestions for future improvement would be very welcomed.

Does the handheld work for everyone? The only part that was tripoded was the main interview.

Though it's simple, and not greatest piece out there, it's sponsored multiple kids so far!
Thanks for watching.

kool. good cause :) all u need is a fast lens now for these low light things. Audio was nice...what did you use?

thanks jambredz and i couldn't agree more :) the fastest crud i have now is the cheapo 50mm prime. some great tripod shots but no good for handheld since there's no IS.
I used an NTG-1 hooked up through my XHA1 and synced in post for the main interview. The musician's interview was just the 7D audio slightly corrected with sound booth (I now have a top-mounted shotgun).

slap that 50+7d combo on a counterweighted shouldermount and watch how good ur results can be. I have a DIY shouldermount (counterweighted) i use my 50mm (no IS) on and get pretty good results

hmmmm... sounds pretty great. do you have any shots of it? i would seriously love to see it in action/make my own!

Used 3/4 schedule 40 pvc piping some 1/4 20 bold, nuts ect and pvc cement and quick release for the cam (and def more cushioning)... and had fun like my old leggo days. I tried some plans online..and while they were ok and usable...i just couldnt get comfortable with it...soo i chucked it and did my own thing.I'll see if i can find those plans and show you...maybe it will provide a base for yours.

amazing what a little spray paint will do :) looks good man, might have to give it a try. we're working on a dolly right now, but we'll have pvc and hardware left.
