Yes, It doesn't let me access the ftp ... can anyone host this footage for dl?

Just use an ftp application with user:anonymous and no password. You should get to the HVX200 folder, where the files are.

Try to download FTPExplorer for windows, or Cyberduck for mac.

Just type the address, and set user name to anonymous, and no password.

Hope that helps

All the best

Fidel.

Fidel is right.. the FTP is anonymous.. you dont need any login information, in fact 1200 people have already downloaded it no problem since ive posted it.

Is that Windows Media File with the 1080 24p sample shots what is on the FTP that a lot of us can't access? Because if it is then I'm not going to try getting on to the FTP any longer.

Just an FYI for everyone, Windows Media Player for Mac is pretty much absolutely worthless. It's such a poorly ported program/codec that only the lowliest of WMV clips will play smoothly, regardless of how fast your Mac is. You also can't scrub back and forth in the Mac version of Windows Media Player, and if you try to move the playhead to another point in the video, the video will reach the end of playback before it ever shows you an image. I'm quite sure The WMV codec for Mac was ported by a seven year old kid during DragonBall Z commercial breaks.

The QuickTime H.264 clip on the other hand was fantastic (on a Mac), but it sounds like just the opposite for Windows users. Sadly, the only H.264 clip I've seen was the blue sparring 720 clip. Hopefully when Apple gets switched over to Intel, Windows Media Player playback will be better for Mac users, and Apple will get better at making QuickTime run on Intel/AMD, and there can be a format we can all enjoy. In the meantime...what's on that FTP and are there any more H.264 clips available out there? Thanks for alll the hard working getting this stuff up!

yeah I thought everyone knew our soldier Mikko's links already, ive just been posting the new ones as the old ones go down.

Mikko is the only real constant we got :)

oh and Span.. that sucks that WMV doesnt work on Mac.. Quicktimes arn't that great on PC's. WMV however wipe Quicktime's but when it comes to encoding, and allows us to actually make a 1080p file. Problem is, Compressor wont scale the pixels right for the DVCPRO-HD file so we cant get a 1080 clip out of it till its actually released.. remember everyone, DVCPRO-HD 1080 doesn't really come out till the 29th of December... so we are all working with beta stuff here. There are ways to scale the H264 to 1080, but not the Native to 1080 properly.

Im letting the Apple guy give me the clips... as im not a Mac guy, and hes a pretty smart cookie so when he gets the 1080 file to me i will post it.

I dont know how many people where around when the DVX100 came out... but before the actual release you kinda where stuck with 60i.

Thanks Jarred. I wasn't award that Compressor can't make a 1080 24p H.264 file yet. More-so than seeing 1080 clips, I'd just like to see more H.264 clips, period. But I'll keep checking back for those clips from 'The Apple Guy'. Thanks very much!

How about encoding a DivX using the HiDef 1080p24 profile @ "insane quality"? That should give superb quality.

We have lots and lots of stuff.. and we will post it as we can. We went out with Jay N., Patrick Kerby, Evin Grant and Nancy Schreiber last week and shot for days and days.. plus all the head to head stuff with HDV, so we got a nice HD full of fun stuff... we just gotta wait for the Show to be over, so we can all take a breath and see what we can use, have rights to post, etc. etc.

Poor Barry has been on the floor for the last 3 days, so coming home and encoding is the last thing he wants to do, and "The Apple Guy" is also on the floor.
