Working in Linear Color Space?

I have a Canon t2i and want to do all my post production operations in a linear color space. Does anyone know what color profile is being used for the canon video or know where I could download a profile?

You might get a lot of quantization artifacts by applying too strong of a reverse gamma curve on 7D footage. Especially since its only 8bit and compressed.

I've found that applying a reverse gamma curve is not bad on 8-bit as long as you do it in 32-bit. I plan on using neatvideo for most of my video, so that should kill a lot of the effect of compression artifacts. Post production is so much nicer when the pixel math works properly :)

You should just try it and report back. Build a reverse gamma curve. Shoot some stuff. Convert the footage into an image sequence and pack the data as-is into a tiff and mark it as linear. Apply some effects/grading and let us know how it goes!

The problem is I cant apply an exact reverse gamma curve if I dont know what the curve is that the videos are made with. Thus my requesting a color profile. I could guess and get close, but I was hoping to find out what I was working with.
