Word of Prayer

any opinions on this one? my biggest problem in this shoot was since this was such a low budget the artist sourced an old warehouse instead of renting studio space with that could handle the lights. so when i tried to hook up the lights it couldn't handle it so i had to chuck my lighting design and work out another on the spot using 2 light sources at a time. all in all it was ok...i guess. but when u have something in your head that u really wanted...kinda sucks not being able to get it done.

hope this is a little inspiration to someone out there...the song that is.

However it occurred, this is one of the better lighting setups I've seen here for people with dark complexion. Good side and back light on shots to give shape to the people against a dark back ground.

Don't know if you used powder to take down shine, but many shots did have a soft look.

And in terms of music video saturation, I'm pretty saturated with the 'hip hop style', so something different is... well... better...

thanks man for taking the time. There's a bit of a "cartoon" effect on the story sections. And on everything else there's an effect (cant remember the name that i just increased to one percent that softened out the skin a bit. Thanks again for the feedback.

I like the song a lot...especially the subject matter. He reminds me of a Jamaican version of Deitrick Hadden. The very simple black and white/fading in and out of images/silhouette lighting etc. fits the song very well. It's all..."different" and that's a good thing.
