Do let me know your thoughts. Shot on a DVX 100A 24FPSA

Oddly enough, with all the lighting equipment I have, I picked up some cheap 10 dollar florecents. Those seemed to work best.

Would love your thoughts on if you're understanding the story.

Thanks soo much.

I enjoyed the trailer alot,
all the trailers that get posted on here, i usually rate them On how long i go before turning them off. If it doesnt Grab my attention i turn it off.
this one HAd my attention,
Both the Acting and the Story seemed very strong. Acually from what i saw the Acting was strong. Also i usually dont like Long trailers, but this one was long, interesting but didnt give away awhole lot.
On understanding the story, what i took away from it was a Man approaching his birthday but going through some tough times, trying to re connect with a past Girl, umm Ive only watched it once, but i felt it was understandable.
Some nice composition in the shots, I like the one shooting down the hall way with the 2 silhouetted figures, where one ask if the other dances
what kind of lights did you use? 10 dollar lights??
like say the Resturaunt? there FAces were pretty Red. you plan this.... I got a shoot ina resturaunt for my short coming up ....

Nice traielr over all !! Peace!!

Love it, Jeff... Absolutely love it... I'm already involved in these guys' life and I've only just seen the trailer. For me, this is a must see... The actors are all great, the music was great, the feel was great...

I don't know if it's my monitor or what, but A couple of the shots seemed really, really blue... the main characters look like oompa loompa's on my screen... other than that... you all did a fantastic job.

OMG, I actully want to see the full film NOW! Where can I get a copy of the completed film? That's totally awesome! No special FX, car chases, kung-fu, just good script, good acting, I'm so into this film, and I've only seen the trailer!

Loved it. I'm really interested in this one! I'm not sure what to pick out and talk about. It was just a really well made trailer. The story is definately something I'd enjoy.

cool.

I loved most of your shots, found some of them to be limited by the dvx's depth of focus abilities. ( wish there was only one 35mm adapter)

but i enjoyed all of it. Acting was good on the most part and i definately got into the story. Music was a great touch! :)

It goes to show you how important acting is in a film. The prod values arent great but who cares? I believed everything these people said. Seen so many films that look fabulous but can't hold my attention because the people in them are so stiff.
Good story + good acting = good film. Prod value is a bonus.

I would buy this in a heartbeat if it was on DVD. Looks really good! Love the cinematography and colors.

This looks great - I was EXTREMELY impressed with the acting - I kept thinking to myself, "this feels real."

Some funny moments too

Great job - although I was visually let down at a few points (diner, and while he was lying on his bed felt compositionally weak, as well as poorly lit)

But still, good job, seems like a great script.

Oh my... I wasn't expecting much, especially with your thread title. But the trailer really blew me away. The acting was superb - along with the dialog. I would totally pay to see this in a theater (or buy it on DVD).

I'd love to know more about your lighting and the sound. The audio seemed really solid. How'd you guys do it?

indeed, we can't forget about the writing. Even great acting can't save terrible dialogue. This trailer shows strength in both acting and writing.

this looks like a lot of fun. I think it is quite easy to get the gist of what is going on without giving away too much.

my .02 would be that it seems a little long and the transitional sound effects seem out of place.. sounds more like something you would use for a thriller. It looks like it is a really funny film and I think a snapper more up beat cut of the trailer would push the comedy more.

Thanks so much for your comments. The lighting with the woman in the window scene was done with 1 60 watt florecent bulb in a light can. Very basic (sometimes that works best.) Other scenes were filmed where we could not use lighting (might reshoot that). Overall, it was a fun project to work on...thanks again for all those kind comments.

The trailer really gave me a sense of professionalism. By this I mean it really looks like you took your time and it shows.

The acting was very good! I was quite at my desk for the whole trailer!!
