I own several Panasonic cameras, starting with the HPX3700 and working on down. I shoot a lot features, commercials and documentaries, especially wildlife. In some cases, I have to use longer lenses and bigger sensor cameras (those other guys)
The AF-100 (having not used it...yet) appears to offer some serious benefits from senor size to sensitivity to smaller size and lighter weight. A few items I really wished were integrated in to it:
- P-tap or any form of external power. I need to use various on-board devices such as the 8" Panasonic monitor, on board recorder, on board LED, etc
- The option to physically have an Anton Bauer or V-Mount battery solution. I've spent good $ on top power solutions for my other Panasonic cameras already.
- a 10 bit minimum HD-SDI out or even Dual link
Yes, I realized some of these items would add cost and even weight, but the alternative will see me with a much bigger, heavier and costly rig in order to meet the demands of some of my production needs.
At the end of the day, I am only one guy, but I'm sure there are others out there that have, or at least will have, similar requirements.
PS - Does anyone know what the manufactures base ISO rating for this camera is? I've heard 400 and 800, but no ones has definitively given the word.
