P2 HD recording, Micro 4/3 interchangeable lens system. Optional AVCHD recording on SDHC card (for longer record times.) Built in ND filter (between sensor and lens I assume...didn't include this in picture unfortunately.) Multiple framerates, etc, all HPX-170 features. Still photo mode (12 megapixel.) Electronic control of major m4/3 lens features including zoom on some models (:))

Love the stealth form factor too much to like this better... heard this today while doing a shot outside:

"How long has that guy been taking a photo of that girl???" lol.
 
Lol. Nice. Yeah I've heard something like that a few times lol. Mainly from the girls I was filming...right before I got the crap kicked out of me. Whoops!
 
I don't think GH1 is small enough to do any stealth shooting. Maybe you need one of the new Kodak Zi8 cams ;)

GH1 is indeed a stealth cam in that people don't realise you are filming. Yet.

Back on track; Ben's PotatoChop image shows exactly the pro-version I've suggested several times - that together with the GH1 would be a perfect camera set for me :thumbup:
 
Lol who uses the flash?

GH1 stealth shooter is nice...although sometimes it seems worse...taking random photos of people has some stigma attached to it because when you have a big video camera you look like you're doing real work, not being just some random perv...that said if you're not doing candid documentary type stuff it works great for taking the thing in places.

Glad you like p-shop job...lol the sizing is a bit off and the front is from the EX-3 + GH1...I guess maybe you could mount different sized lenses! Did it really really fast go figure lol.

Let's send it to Jan.
 
Lol. I wish photoshopping the front of an EX-3 and GH-1 and the Micro 4/3 logo onto a camera constituted a "design"... if this was the case I'd be freaking rich already.

That's what I've been talking about a few times here. Put me on the pre-order list. How hard can it be for Panasonic to put that baby together? Barry, please make Jan's eardrums bleed a lot more. They would have a gigantic hit product with that one.
 
Thing is, just because *we* think it's perfect, doesn't necessarily mean that it's the product that makes sense for them across their entire product line, y'know? So yes, I've lobbied heavily for something like that, with my own particular twist on things too. But whatever they decide to market will have to meet certain sales goals across their entire market base, etc., so -- while it seems painfully obvious to us, does that make it a viable product overall?

I think yes. But then again, I'm not a multibillion dollar conglomerate that is currently owning 80% of the broadcast video market, so -- hopefully they'll see things our way! But they have their own goals, timetables, schedules, priorities, etc. It's a big company. One that listens, yes, but... well, I am very impressed with how they listened to us on the DVX, and on the HVX, and on the HPX170. Maybe they will, maybe they won't, maybe they can, maybe they can't. Only thing I can guarantee is that no matter what they're considering doing, we won't hear a word about it. Japanese companies are usually very secretive about products in development.

When I've had the opportunity to talk with them, I make suggestions, and they say "interesting" or "hmm". But they definitely don't give any feedback along the lines of "great, we'll do that". it's always completely noncommittal, which is understandable. So this entire idea might be fiction or fantasy or reality, there's no way to know unless they someday issue a press release...

I for one am content with my GH1 for now...and by the time this comes out maybe I'll have made enough money for one. :)

If only I could get my hands on a frigging GH1 I would be extremely happy. I am buying from Abel Cine and they told me yesterday that they are hoping to get it by the end of the month. Boy, what a long wait its been.
 
Some people are having good luck with Panny direct orders shipping in like 2 days..some or not...maybe check out the other thread.

I bought my HVX 200 and P2 cards from Abel Cine so there is a business relationship going. Also if there is any problem with the cam I like to bring it directly to the store rather than ship it. I'll just have to take a deep breath, calm down, and wait a little longer!!!!

Awww shucks, didn't mean to rub salt in a open wound, truly sorry for that. I'm just confused by all people seemingly desperate for a NTSC GH1 but nobody picks up on that offer :huh:
