Wireless external monitor?

Hey guys.

Come spring time I'll be shooting a lot of mountain biking and will be really focusing on cablecam shots. I was doing this blindly this summer through trial and error. A wireless video transmitter of some sort would be a great help. This in no way needs to be HD, just enough for me to find the right framing and such. The range wouldn't have to be much more than 50 feet or so.

Anyone know what my options are for something like this?

I don't know your budget but I have seen Transvideo transmitters used for remote monitoring on a stedicam. You would also need an HDMI to SDI converter but AJA & Blackmagic make those. I bet there is a cheaper solution but I personally have never looked into it.

I would have to figure out a way to power that up on the cable cam by some sort of battery, but this is all I would need. It advertises a 150 ft range (all I need is 50 or so).

Would buying this be a waste of money?

I believe there was another thread on the same subject a while ago. It might have been in the general dslr equipment section.

Some guy posted a link to a transmitter he used on his steadicam. It was somewhere around $30...?

I need pretty much the same thing, so I'd be interested to see what you come up with.
