T2i Wired remote for T21 video?

Is there any information on how to trigger T2i/550D video recording via wired remote? It has the simplest of all remote solutions when it comes to focusing and shooting stills but are there any updates that refer to movie mode operation?

Hi, I know there are lots of wireless which like RC-5, but I read lots of review and said the angle you point it towards the camera at needs to be perfect and sometimes it doesn't even seem to send... thats why I choose canon.

Hi, I ve already oredered a wireless remote from B&H, next week I will confirm it is working or not, but I think it will.

You are going to be disappointed with that B&H remote. I ordered one of these and it is awesome ( link Below )))!!! I didn't get it from this seller but it is the same thing. The range is awesome, and the button acts just like the shutter button on the camera. Half press focus, full press fire.http://cgi.ebay.com/Wireless-Shutte...ZCamera_Camcorder_Remotes?hash=item2eaa774316

Interesting.... but now I will use what I ordered. ..anyway, where do U put the flash? I need wireless remote during paragliding flight, and flash is on my 550d.

I never had those problems with my $3 eBay RC-5 clone on either a XSi/T1i. It doesn't work with my T2i however. In fact, I'm looking for RC-6 generics to start appearing anytime now.

I'll be interested in T2i compatibility verification when you get your Canon brand RC-5.

EDIT: I put a new battery in the RC-5 clone and it now works fine with the T2i.

To each his own. It may work great for you. Everyone shoots in different ways. I never use a flash mounted directly on the camera.

xcm:

can it start video recording after the 4GB limit has been reached per clip? I'm interested in getting the new RC-6 but def for the reason of stopping/starting the video portion once the limit has been reached per clip.

I will try it in the afternoon (EU time). but it is a good news that u see a led flash (front of the camera) when start or stop recording.

Thanks xcm, I really appreciate this. I hope the remote works for this too... I'm using the T2i as my B camera and I interview for up to 90 minutes at a time and I hate when it stops after 4GB (and I have to get it after a question and start the camera again). I do filming myself (no help), so it has become quite a pain for me lately. This is was of the only flaws of the T2i, I love this camera though.
