Hey,

I didn't use one wipe so your style is still safe LOL. However, star wars uses a bunch of wipes and has anyone seen Battlefield earth

He must have used time travel. I know he can do it, he's got the money. Stupid Lucas. Honestly, Star Wars was the only reason I used wipes in 2:35. There, I said it.

the wipes in star wars were great, it was part of the uniqueness, up until ep III when he had to use the iMovie venitian blind and small boxes ****. that just ruined it.

I literally laughed out loud when I saw that. I think only someone who has edited before would appreciate the level of rediculous. :D

Nope. I have little to no editing experience and I slapped my forehead--hard--the second those blinds opened. ;)

I used multiple wipes in mine, though none of them were hard edged. Only one was an actual wipe across the screen, preceding the truck racing into the parking lot. The rest started from a mask around a person/object, then eminated out to fill the rest of the screen.

Sci-Fi ... I was inspired by Star Wars, I guess.

Ha, good point. Half the time the difference between "fantasy" and "science fiction" is setting, not content. If it's in space, doesn't matter how much magic's in it, it'll get called sci-fi. ;)

Lucas should have known that using iMovie to edit Star Wars III was a mistake.

You'd be surprised how cheesy the wipes get in the original (A New Hope). There's a "double diamonds" wipe to the Yavin forest right before the briefing about the Death Star.

It's so.... so, odd.

Everything but a star wipe in A New Hope :)
