After charging the battery, I took our AF100 (on a Miller DS20 tripod) down to the street and rolled off a little footage. Can't wait to start production on our next movie(s) with this. Buddy of mine has some Lomos we might use.

mild sharpening and film grain added in post

Some great nighttime high-ISO test. Low noise considering you said you added sharpening and grain in post.

Thats real nice Zak. Great test of the camera. Not sure why you wanted to sharpen and add grain though?

Never forget the power of "sound" on an image ( apart from being slightly over modulated... here)

Looks beautiful! What shutter speed did you use? 180 degrees?

yes. 180°

I shot with in-camera sharpening at -7 so I could control the amount I added in Apple Color. Maybe I'll refine the in-camera setting in a controlled environment so I can get it where I like it. as for grain, maybe I'm dating myself but I still pursue a film look. And film has grain. beautiful, textured, organic grain. getting a little long in this response but generally I add grain for the same reason I compose for 2.40:1 and add music and play with framerates, etc, etc. :)

Nice test Zak, the Nikon looks great. Which follow focus are you using?

I pulled focus by hand. Have a Cinevate Durus on the way though.

I agree big time.
