Will this anamorphic adapter work for the 7d?

[Faymus Media]

this has a 72mm lense mount, and almost all my lenses are 72mm, and i can always get a step up ring if needed...

here is the lense adapter i am looking into, i believe this is a 2.35 aspect...

thanks! one last question will it also work for a sony ex1?

Yes, it will Craven, but you have to zoom in a bit to account for the larger 77mm filter diameter. Same thing for all lenses with larger filter diameters than 72mm. For VDSLRs though, you'll be limited in a way as, for instance, the new Nikon 24mm 1.4 with 77mm diameter won't work as you are stuck at too wide of a focal length so you would need to switch over to the smaller 52mm diameter Nikon 24mm 2.0 if you wanted a 24mm anamorphic.
