Will the ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 11-22mm F2.8-3.4 work with the GH1

My deepest apology I was referring to this lens and it's comparability
wt my GH1 via panasonic 43 to m43 adapter. Anyone using this lens ?

All the 4/3 lenses work on m4/3 cameras via the adaptor. They allow electronic linkage with the camera so you can control the aperture via the camera. However, only a very limited selection of newer Olympus 4/3 lenses will autofocus on Panasonic m4/3 cameras, and the list is on the above link.

Honestly just get the Tokina 11-16 so you get 2.8 throughout and use a canon adapter for it.

Yep, I would love it, my son has the Tokina 11-16 on his 7D and if I had the bucks I'd buy the Duclos Modification, But I didn't know the Canon M43 adapter connected electronically to the GH1 to give me aperture control. who makes the adapter Panasonic ?

Thanks everyone for your response so far, I'm still not sure which lens to go with.
PSYNEMA you mentioned:

Canon FD to M43 has no electric connection so I assume you mean "f2.8 throughout" cause the aperture is wide open all the time. I have Voghtland m43 adapters for Nikon and Leica, if i'm stuck wide open all the time i'd just get the Nikon Tokina. But that's not the issue.

The issue is aperture control
and I could have that with the ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 11-22mm F2.8-3.4 , according to what SteB is saying. Is the Tokina Glass that much better ? ( Duclos seemed to think it was worth all that modification ), I really don't know . I prettymuch use all Manual lenses know and if the ZUIKO 11-22mm isn't that far off I would rather have the controll.

The ZD lenses effectively work much like the kit lens on the GH1, minus the autofocus. For most filming situations you'll probably be manual anyway, so no problem there. Try doing a search on Flickr for stills from the 11-22, it's a belter of a lens IMO.

The ZD 11-22mm has an excellent reputation for optical quality and it is also a weather sealed design, although unfortunately the GH1 isn't. This lens won't AF on the GH1, but other than that you should get all the normal automatic lens functions with the Panasonic or Olympus 4/3 m4/3 adaptor, but you will have to use manual focus only.

I don't think there's an adapter that would let you control the aperture of the Tokina 11-16 with a Canon mount. I'm not sure if the lens would always be wide open or closed. You could get the Tokina with the Nikon mount and get one of Ciecio7's $100 adapters. It has a thumbscrew that allows you to control the aperture on DX mount lenses, albeit VERY slowly.

I hope to get the Nikon mount Tokina and Ciecio adapter when I get some money. Along with 4 or 5 other "must have" lenses!
