They look pretty similar. Will a MKII battery run my C100 for a much longer time than the standard batteries?
You are correct sir!The canon c300 Mark ii batteries operate at a much higher voltage, 14.4v vs 7.4v, so you will not be able to use them with the c100 or the c300 for that matter.. Someone correct me if I am wrong..
You are correct sir!
Nothing wrong with using some extra voltage on your electronics. I personally use an Anton Bauer 190w to power my wristwatch. I used to use the standard watch battery, but I got tired of having to replace it once every few years. The canon c300 Mark ii batteries operate at a much higher voltage, 14.4v vs 7.4v, so you will not be able to use them with the c100 or the c300 for that matter.. Nothing from those guys yet......Jim, some months ago you mentioned a battery manufacturer that was about to launch their 3rd party batteries for C300mk2. What happened with that? Any news? I'm still looking for C300mk2 batteries with D-tap output so I can go small form factor and have power for accessories.
Thanks for the update. That's too bad. Hope they get that going soon!Nothing from those guys yet......
Still no sign of Canon A60 equivalent batteries with D-tap plug?Nothing from those guys yet......
Have not heard anything on this much wanted feature on these(and others) batteries....Still no sign of Canon A60 equivalent batteries with D-tap plug?
Good question....I think it is really what you are shooting. If you are going fast and light, Canon batteries. If you are going more for a narrative set up, yes, Vmount or Gold mount. I'd say that 75% of our many sales have had capabilities for both. I've also suggested to all that, even with a bigger battery setup with multiple ptaps, save one by using the Canon battery to run the camera.Jim:
How many C300 MKII users are you seeing forsaking the Canon batteries and just going to V-Mount or Gold Mount? With the cost of the larger Canon battery, seems like it would be smarter to just go with brick batteries, more power for monitor/recorders, on-board lights, etc.? The third party V-Mount/Gold Mount market seems to have a lot of choices and the prices seem fairly stabilized these days since they have all been around a while. Trying to think about this as we just pulled the trigger on a couple of Aputure LS 1S lights with the V-Mount plates. It would be so convenient to power a C300 MKII with the same batteries we use for LED panels.
Reconsidered as in not happening? Or the other way around?Jim, if it is SWIT you were talking about, they reconsidered coming out with their own version.
