Will Red have resellers?

OK a year or three from now I may be seriously considering buying a Red. But being in the UK, will there be the chance to go along and have a play with one before handing over the money?

Will Red be having resellers in different countries, so I can go along and have a play with one, or will I have to buy direct from Red, ala Redrock?

Or will Red be attending VideoForum in London next year so that us Brits can see the camera for ourselves?

not yet known.. but if we will follow the oakley policy, jim wants to control the distribution to the final customer.. and the product will be cheaper.. my bet is he knows how to sell and how to profit in a web based society.. can you imagine panasonic gave up to be present at ibc because they believe it's not necessary..? of course, it cannot be the case of a brand new manufacturer like red is..

I understand that, but for many of us it is not easy to slap down $17,500 + import duty+VAT+lenses+cage+accessories etc without first seeing the product in our hands and having a play with it, even for 5-10 minutes.

If Red are going to be sole distributors of their product, I hope they can at least take a booth at VideoForum so that us Brits can see it for ourselves and have a play/see the 4K demonstration for ourselves.

I was told a Dutch camera rental house made reservations for six RED Ones. I'm betting there will be rental houses in the UK doing the same. So you may be able to have more than a 5-10 minute play with it. If in doubt, renting the camera for a project may be the best thing to do - since you'll be able to check out lens options at the same time.
