Will my 35mm f/2.0 AI Nikkor work on 5100?

Can't find a direct answer to this in searching.

I have the old (but superb) 35mm f/2.0 AI manual lens. Will this work on a 5100 in manual mode?
Will the camera's internal light meter work with the manual aperture on the lens? I like using manual focus, so that's no problem. I know that the effective focal length will be longer...not a problem either.

Any help on this is appreciated.

Looks like you won't be able to meter with ai. I had a D80 that I used ai lenses on for macro work. Had to experiment manually with aperture.
So it's no big deal with digital cameras where time is not a critical factor.
Keep in mind that the d5100 will also not autofocus on lenses without focus motors.

Thanks...looks like the scene modes are the only ones that work. Probably only using shutter speed to control exposure.
