Will heat damage my equipment?

Our summers here are on average 80 Fahrenheit. I don't think I've seen the inside temperature above 100 but that's still warm... What kind of damage could happen?

The click is bad............................

Leaving anything in a car for a week can't be good; any electronic equip, babies, dogs, small Haitian children ....................

Actually to be serious, here.

Heat will not damage your equipment as long as you wear boxers, never briefs.

Safety first.

But if you're worried about having kids that you might, in turn, accidentally leave in the car, then go with briefs and use a laptop. In a hot tub.

Gone for a week, eh?!

And where is this SUV located?

Seriously though, if you can call a friend and have them bring it to their house it would be beneficial. We've had some nasty heat here, and I can't even sit in my car with no AC on.

In general, mechanical items can take a lot of heat without damage. The lubricants (if any) may liquify and do bad things like get on the lens. Electronics (if any) can take a lot of heat without damage, when off. You should be ok, but don't do it again!:)

OK I'll bite...

Why are you sitting in your car?

Ha! Pookie. I meant to state that the duration from closing the car door until starting the ignition is too hot for me.

I don't usually just sit in a hot car ... unless I'm doing ADR.
