since the Carl Zeiss ZE EF lenses don't work on the C300MK2, I will need to get Canon Glass, I am thinking of getting the 16-35 II, or are there better options (has to be light 'cause I use it on the Movi as well).

The 16-35 f/4 is sharper than the 16-35 f/2.8 II lens and it has great IS. It's also a little smaller and probably a bit lighter.
These are from two blog posts of mine when I was testing out the lens. The first is IS on + AF on and the second is IS but with MF. Both shot with the C300.
I had the 16-35 f/2.8 ver I and ver II. I like the new f/4 with IS much better. I have used it on people and architecture, stills and video projects. The IS on it is great, too, but you won't need that with the Movi.
The videos above are from blog posts of mine - each has a bit more information:

Sigma 18-35 art. Fabulous lens!
Zeiss ZEs work on C300s, C100s, C100 MK II, and the new C300 MK II.....the poster was using a general statement that they don't work but they, for the most part do ....just minor issues on the wides...The lenses in question have ELECTRONIC IRIS. 3rd party lenses don't always work with new (or old) Canon cameras. See this thread:

I think these real life cases should illustrate the issues Canon has of carrying over proprietary thinking from stills to cinema & TV. I don't doubt that this company policy works well for Canon's business in Stills, but in Cinema & TV 3rd party lenses are the name of the game...
....just minor issues on the wides...
I haven't seen anything about the Zeiss ZE glass not working on the C300 MK II. What doesn't work?
