I am capturing some 24pa into fcp - I am useing the easy setup advance pull down
removeal - my problem is I keep getting time code breaks and for some reason the audio gets knocked out of sync - is there an easier way to capture 24pa or deal with the sync / timecode issue

Thanks in advance!

yes i read that i am capturing correctly.....this is the issue

if i let the capture get stoped or interupted by a time code break it will cause the audio to go out of sync ....if i stop the capture before the time code break it is fine.

any idea why?

Why are you trying to capture through TC breaks in the first place?

If you're hitting a break, it's going to throw FCP off as it tries to detect the pull down cadence. That's why it knocks audio out of sync. Audio in the DV world, generally, is not locked. Locked audio means that every "frame" of audio is directly related to a frame of video. Instead, you have a stream of audio information that happens to coincide with a stream of video. If the computer drops a frame of video, it may or may not drop that frame's related audio.

Im not purposely capturing thru the TC break ....I cant detect when the TC break is going to accrue ( is there a way ? )

Whats is the best / easiest way to avoid TC breaks in general ( before and or after filming )

also....say i dont need the audio in a clip that a TC break has put out of sync...is the video still usable or should it be re captured.
