Why my gh13 screen freezes when plugged into computer.

As soon as i hook my hacked gh1 to my Mac the screen freezes and says "please wait."
Has anyone had this problem? Im very scared i will not be able to edit my footage now.
 
plugging your gh1 into the comp isn't ideal. just get a card reader, all your doing is transferring your files over. a better card reader means faster transfer thats all.

Always copy your PRIVATE folder to your computer and then log and transfer from there, it will be much faster, plus you can then backup that PRIVATE folder and have a light weight backup of footage. It'll be difficult to reconnect because of the naming structure if you don't then organize by date within your scratch disk, but it'll be much easier to back up. Log and transfering off of the card is sort of a waste of time.
 
Ok i bought a card reader and all is well! My next concern though is how to delete specific movie files off the card? Do i delete the entire private folder or can i view which clips to delete somehow?

Why would you ever delete the files off the card on the computer? They hardly take up any space just save them, or delete them off the camera. Do not go messing with the private folder directory structure or you run the risk of corrupting all the data.

Copy the PRIVATE folder to your computer and then log and transfer off that.
