Why is the kit lens so ugly [on the inside]?

That's going to be giving you 30p. You can drop it in a 30p timeline and edit it like 30p in your NLE, or keep it 60p timeline and deal with doubled frames but not have to render at all on export. Anyway, I've used 1/30th in the 720p mode for indoor shooting with the kit lens when I wanted a 30p look and there wasn't much movement...specifically I used it for filming students giving presentations...also doubles the space on the card vs 60p and doesn't run the risk of card speed error.

I find that I get a lot of artifacts when I drop below 1/50 on 720p with the hack applied.... I didn't realize that frames were being doubled...

1st image shows how lenses like canon's control focusing. It moves the glass element mechanically by rotation which generates noise.

2nd image shows how 14-140's linear motor moves the glass element electronically. It sorta glides down. The only noise is from the gliding.

It seems m43 revolution is really about the lens design. i.e. they removed the mirror to achieve the two way communication between lens and body. The 14-140 represents a pinnacle of their work.

Shame they didn't sacrifice the length for a bit of width, in my opinion. 14-70mm f2.8 would have been infinitely preferable. I realise that it would have cost more.
