Why is my video flickering?

In a few of my shots I saw that the video was flickering. Luckily they did not appear in any of the shots we used.

We were shooting indoors under fluorescent lights, could that be the problem?

Was my shutter the wrong speed for these lights?

Off topic here:
But, these lights should be 3200K, right?
So, why didn't the White Balance look right?

I believe under fluorescents you'll see banding unless you increase your shutter to 1/60th. Also I believe 3200 is incorrect for fluorescent. There is a setting on the 7d for it, but the temperature is around 5000.

Im assuming the Ont. in your location is Ontario? Canada is 60Hz country, so generally speaking as the above poster stated - 1/60th.

As far as colour temp. Household / Consumer Fluorescent lights can vary greatly in colour temp so you'll always need to manually white balance for them.

I faced a similar problem. You just need to adjust the shutter speed sometimes to get it caliberated to the lights. Its similar to what you do while shooting television screens.

Thats why you need on set monitoring so you can playback to something other than the LCD and see what your actually getting.
