Why doesn't anyone post?

Okay, so on the home page it is possible to view the amount of viewers on the site. Every time I have viewed this, the number of logged in members currently online has been over 200. Yet, there is only a couple new posts an hour. Do you guys just like to browse around not stating your thoughts, or am I missing something ;3

hahahahaha! Actaully I made this like 2 years ago and posted once and left, and now I'm back. Dude i've posted like 4 times today ;D

To post, or not to post- that is the question...
Whether 'tis nobler in the forum to suffer
The outrageous posts and thoughts of others,
Or to take a stand against a sea of silence...
And by posting, end the silence:
To post, to surf in silence no more...

Ha, Ha,Ha!!!!..... "A Post!!! A Post!!! My kingdom for a Post!!"

Better to not post and be thought an idiot, than to post and remove all doubt.

I 2nd quality not quantity.

Of course this IS the Cafe'... so go nuts... worst case scenario we'll have flow.

One issue is the whose online section is set-up to display people that have been active back to 2-3 hours ago... click on somebody in the list, you'll more than likely see they haven't been active for 20 minutes+ (left column on profile page). It's set-up to look there are more people active at any given time than there actually are.

Because there are a bunch of people who'd be better off NOT posting, but they still do.

Me too. Although if you have a question and even much more importantly, if you have an answer to a question, then there you go.

Ideally that would be the case. However it's not. That can be frustrating but a first place to start is try giving more than you recieve and maybe earn some respect over time.
This isn't just a website. It's a community. That's why it's called a community.

<rant over> :)

edit:///Almost. Those that abuse it, lose it. :)

I visit almost everyday and post very little. I tend to come to learn more than to voice my opinion. I do really appreciate this site.

To the OP, I think that there are a lot of posts here but the on-line members display is inherently misleading. I for one sign in to DVXUSER most anytime I am on-line and keep it up as an active tab in Firefox, even while I am elsewhere in other tabs. If you participate on this forum for any length of time you will develop a sense of timing about the conversations that are going on in a particular thread. Sometimes, especially around NAB, the IBC or surrounding an announced "Major" camera unveiling things can get pretty fast and furious around these parts. If you want to keep up, bring your box lunch and the beer cooler to the computer... you gonna be here a while!

AFAIKC People post when they have a problem that needs an answer or they have just discovered something new (to them at least) , the rest of the time people are out there doing.

Im my experience of being on line (some 30 years*) where there is a high amount of chatter it is because people are sat in front of a screen most of the time and not pout doing. There are a FEW exceptions but for movie makers you should be on set/location, treating talent like cattle :-), hustling for backers , scouting for locations, actors crew etc, trying to beg borrow or.... (be good :-) equipment. etc etc so when do you have time to chat on line if you really are in the business of making movies.

So in this Forum you tend to get interesting questions that people only respond to if they have something intresting to say.

LONG MAY IT STAY THAT WAY.

*yes 30 years.. I started on BBS and Fido. I only moved to the Internet proper in 1990.
