Why does the firewire cable have 2 different size ends

this is confusing me. The cable that came with the HDD I purchased have two different sized ends. I have no idea how to attach the camera to the HDD for down loading.

This is my first time performing this type of transfer.

is it this and this?

okay the small end (called a 4-pin connector) is designed to connect to the port on a dv/hdv camera or other recording device. the larger end (called a 6-pin) attaches to the computer.

the 4 pin jack on the camera looks like this...

Just make sure the camera and drive are shut off when you make the connection. It's possible to fry either or both if they're powered already.

don't sweat it. even dwarfs started small.

Hahaha...yes they did.

Ok I got the correct cable (1394 6 pin to 4 pin)

Im set ad ready to go and I get the warning: Too many targets. Turn power off

Now what?
