Why can't I capture footage shot on my A1?

I shot 8 hours of HDV 24f footage on Sony tapes with my A1 and I am unable to capture the footage using Premiere with Cineform settings, HDlink, or HDV split.

The tapes start out capturing fine, but on all tapes they get to a seemingly random point where the software fails to capture the footage. In Premiere the capture window rolls on with the running timecode, says it capturing, but as soon as the tape ends or I press stop is says the recorder captured no frames. Even though it was playing fine and acting like it was recording. HDlink won't even begin to capture, it just freezes or won't start. HDV split will start rolling the tape and then say...

Capturing has been started
INFO: No more data is received from camcorder. Capture stopped.
End of capturing

During this I have full control of the camera (play/stop/fwd/rwd, etc). The footage plays fine on the camera, on the preview windows in the software, and on TV. But it won't capture.

What is going on here? I am really worried, I have all this footage and can't transfer it to my PC.

I am using my A1 as the deck in these situations. Please advise what could be happening and any work arounds. I have contact Cineform and they are baffled.

Thanks
Tom

Do you have the same failure using all three methods? As a test, you might want to capture straight HDV and SD to see if the problem repeats.

Are you on Vista? My experience with a Cineform trial is that it's not ready for Vista yet. Thing went so pear-shaped that I had to blow away the whole system and rebuild. I was not a happy bunny.
