JoeFowler said:I was pulled over in Montana several years ago when they had no posted limits and I said to the cop, "I thought there was no speed limit." He said, "There is, 'Reasonable and Prudent.'"

What is the Canadian/Quebec issue? I didn't realize there was one.

Actually, that's complete bogus. Quebec is the only province where newcomers kids HAVE TO attend French-speaking schools unless their first language was English. So, if you come from majority of the world, tough luck. In case of mixed marriages (linguistically), the mother tongue decides. There was even a case before Quebec Supreme Court a few month ago that upheld that, IIRChvpz said:Btw, The only negative thing I heard, is that Ottawa is installing an significant part of the new english speaking people coming in Canada in Quebec.

In ROC (rest of Canada), kids can attend either English or French language schools, parent's free choice.
I don't care either way, just wanted to clarify.

The rest of the province - where I had a chance to visit - is simply georgeous, and I found most people reasonably friendly when you take into account that the only phrase I know is 'Je t'aime' (I doubt I got the spelling right).
