Whoa!!!!!!! Big earthquake!!!!!!!!!

Wow, freaky. I hate these damn things. 25-30 sec long for this one. Slow rolling, monitors on arms shaking pretty good. No damage here, other than a shattered picture frame. OMG, they killed my picture of Kenny, you basterds! Not Kenny actually but Merle Haggard.

Oop. registered 6.9 in Mexicali

EDIT: No injuries?!?! They lie, I just cut my hand picking up the glass. Wow, I will be the only reported injury. Please notify the appropriate media. This calls for a celebratory/medicinal beer.

Hold onto that beer. Do you have a video cam handy? Cell phone cam? web cam?

Never been in a quake. Good luck man. Keep us posted.

Everything is cool, will prolly get a few more aftershocks tonight for sure. Nah, no camera right now.

But consider yourself lucky. Out here we always hear "the next one could be the big one" and when you first feel the tremor, guess what the first thought is? "Oh-oh, this is it." Or for me, "GOTTA SAVE THE BEER!!!!!!!" Kinda destroys that fun aspect of earthquakes, if there is such a thing.

Yeah, right.

//New Orleans has a great deal on beach front property I've heard.

hehe, the list is too long to post.

It seem like it lasted a really long time. I just love how local news is taking callers like "OMG WHAT DID YOU FEEL? DID YOU FEEL NAUSEOUS WITH THAT ROLLING FEELING?!!!".

Meanwhile, people in Chile are still searching for dead family.

Seriously though, hours of news coverage that for most people on this side of the border resulted in the (calm, followed by brief panic that in may be the "big one") "Oh, hey, were having an earthquake" reaction, aka southern California reaction.

It's Easter and I've had a few drinks with the family. I hope this was a sensible post.

I felt this, but it was very small. It felt like someone was rocking the chair I was in. Pretty good first exposure to earthquakes.

My daughter felt it in the house, but I was out walking with the iPod playing...didn't feel a thing in Rancho Cucamonga...

Y'all heard it here first. No denying it. California is going to be the Isle of California soon.

I declare myself Emporer here on the future Isle of California. Just and fair rule shall be my banner. A harem for me. But challenges to my authority will be swiftly struck down.

New laws to be enforced:
Hotel California shall be the new anthem
Prima Nocta is now back in vogue, at least for me, the Emporer.
The title "Doc" shall refer to anything awesome or amazing
I reserve the right to change my mind or the laws here whenever I want.

It scared the **** out of me. I could tell it was not like anything I've ever felt before, despite the fact that it wasn't violent at all in LA.

Hope we don't need one up here any time soon. A 7.2 would have released a lot of tension I suppose, but it was way down there, like 300-400 miles from LA or so.

Earthquakes scare me to death, none really over here in Aus but living in Tokyo certainly gave me my fair share of tremors. Glad no ones hurt.

Yea, I'd take 10-20 cat 4 hurricanes over one cat 7.5 earthquake below my feet. I'd live in a permanent cat 4 hurricane over an 8.5 hitting while indoors.
