Wait a few minutes and you will see! I think you will all love it.

Okay, here it is! I just put this little trailer together...this was some of the footage from our first 2 days of shooting for a hospital scene. We are in a totally new location today so that footage will come soon as well. I am DP/Op on the show...entitled, "Give Me Chocolate". Sad film...*warning!*

Enjoy,

wtf? why tease us with a pre-emptive post?

edit: lol as soon as i edited this your post had updated with the link. my bad :P
but fark man, that has some damn good quality shots in it, my quicktime player crashed on me before i could finish, but the stuff between what i assume is a husband and a wife when they're talking about divorce, you coulda fooled me into thinking it was shot on film!

great stuff, your work continues to amaze me :)

SHE'S YOUR DAUGHTER TO!

Nice work, I especially liked the lighting on the parents. The sound was nice and crisp, the music was well suited, but the music did sound a bit cheap/midi-like in my personal opinion. Other than that though, great :)

Thanks!

The music is from the soundtrack OLDBOY. I think it gives a feeling of true loneliness and being desolate...but I can see how you can hear the midi-like tune. :)

unbelievable!!! Very nice work Norm. I would like to see the whole thing. I liked the acting too. "SHE'S YOUR DAUGHTER TOO!" Brilliant work.

Cool Norm, it looks beautiful, congratulations.

I hope you are able to remove the nylon cord in the origami shot! :)

Serious though, nice!

Wow. Nice stuff, Norm. Makes me excited to get my Micro35. Now, if I could just transfer your obvious knowledge of lighting, I'd be set.

Nice work, Norm, as always. Beautiful lighting.

The voices are all on the left channel? Is that a problem with me, or intentional?

Are you guys renting the mini35?

What kind of lenses are you shooting with? I really like the OVT shots.

Looks very nice. If I have one crit' it's the scene with the doctor and nurse, their faces appear too dark. Although that kind of high contrast lighting is cool, (the DP for "The Machinist" employed it to incredible effect) it has to be done in proper context to what the characters are all about. I'm not really sure why their faces need to be buried in shadow, the parents perhaps, the doctor and nurse, perhaps not.
You wouldn't lose the tonality of the scene by bringing their features out a bit, it might even provide a better contrast to the anger and darkness that is obviously in the heart of the parents.
Then again, these are just my opinions and nothing more. I have to say the stuff really does look wonderful for the most part.
You inspire us all.

Dude, you show me some footage when you get that. I'm trying to get my hands on one but not sure if its the best one yet. I wasent as impressed with the footage on their page as I was with the G35's. But that could just be the lenses they use right?

Could you possibly tell me exactly what sound equipment was used for this? Im trying to figure out what equipment I need and that sounds exactly like what I need.

It'll be 6-8 weeks before I get it as they are just now ramping up production. I've spoken with one of the guys in person (James Hurd) and he showed me some addtional screen shots and footage that are in their forums if you dig around enough. Lenses definitely make a difference, and their new GG is grainless which helps a ton. Is it the best? I'll never know without trying 'em all and I really need to get in gear if I want to get a reel out by spring, so I'm going with the micro35, or M2 as it's now called. As always, your results may vary.

And I'll definitely post footage as soon as I can.

Hi Taylor,

Thanks, I got some new gear yep. Made enough money to re-buy some stuff used.

Looks Great Norm...did you get new gear?
I thought your stuff got ripped off...

The sound equipment used was just a standard broken boompole (haha) and an Octava microphone. That's it! Hooked it up straight to the DVX.

Yep, we rented the Mini35. The lenses I rented were a Sigma 15mm, Nikkor 35-70mm, Nikkor 80-200mm, and a Nikkor 105mm. The OVT shots were on a 105mm.
