GH4 Who has used the YAGH Interface Unit? Help Needed...

So I posted on another thread but didn't get any clear answers. Who here has used the YAGH with the GH4? I just got mine and right out of the box there is an echo/reverb that comes through both the XLR channels and the onboard mic when the YAGH unit is connected. The echo isn't only in monitoring; it gets recorded to the SD card and is audible on my computer. Recording sound to the GH4 without the interface unit attached produces clean, echo-free audio.

Has anyone had this experience? How can I fix it? B&H and Panasonic were both unable to help. If I can solve this, I'll keep the unit as I like the other functions. If not, I'm sending it back.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Andrew

I'd go into a local store with your GH4 and ask to test out the YAGH unit cause your interested but heard it has a delay echo on the records and that is holding you from purchase. Easy way to see if its just your unit or all units. Not many people are using the YAGH so I don't think many users will chime in here.

Yeah, although I'm not sure who carries this unit. I'll look around. Probably I'm going to send it back if nobody can help me. I've shot with tons of Panasonic cameras all the way back to the DVX100 and they've all been user-friendly and functional straight out of the box. This is a pain in the ass. Pretty disappointing, especially when it comes to Panasonic's tech support, which connected me to a guy who knew nothing about everything and couldn't connect me to anyone knowledgable.

I don't suspect that the unit is broken or malfunctioning.

I think the difference in your support experience is that technically the GH4 falls unter the consumer camera division not the pro division which would have different support techs. For me personally I didn't need SDI with my GH4 so I bought a Tascam DR60 to record dual sound and haven't thought twice about the YAGH.

I wonder if the internal mic is being recorded at the same time? How many audio tracks are present in your NLE? If that is the case simply mute the internal mic tracks.

When the unit is attached you have to choose whether to record from the XLRs on the YAGH or from the camera body. It doesn't appear that you can do both which leads me to believe that isn't the issue.

I know you're stressed over the issue..but starting a new thread about the same issue is not helpful.
There is a user/review here: http://gh4crew.co.uk/

"With the YAGH connected you don’t get an option to switch from REC SOUND to the preferred LIVE SOUND this may be a bug.

I noticed an infinitesimal lag on the headphone output…nothing to worry about but this is caused by the Sound Output being set to REC SOUND in the menu…unfortunately it’s greyed out.
Taking it a stage further I thought it may have been chosen before the YAGH was in place so I took off the YAGH and hey presto it was set to LIVE SOUND…placing the YAGH back it defaults to REC SOUND.
I hope Panasonic can fix this as LIVE SOUND is the preferred default for many of us."

So..seems like the only issue the above user has is the usual minor delay between monitoring live vs record. If yours is a lot greater and being recorded, seems like a defect. $.02. Maybe post a brief clip that shows your problem.
