Who has the best deal on GH1?

Now that GH1's are easier to find these days, I was wondering if some online stores are now offering the GH1 below the $1499 msrp. Not that $1500 is a bad price already but if there's a place that sells for less (and is reputable), then that's money I can spend on lenses, adapters, etc. Thanks for any help!

I would say, stick with a company you know. BH Photo or Ritz.
The prices are prettymuch the same all around. When you see the prices
much lower than that, something is wrong.

Good Luck with your purchase.

Currently in Amazon and B&H, it appears to be sold out. It's still easy to get in local authorized dealers but I don't think sales will be coming in until a little before Christmas or maybe after Christmas since it looks like theirs no reason for the stores to lower it since its still in a decent demand.

Thanks very much. I guess I had the wrong idea with all the in stock alerts coming from nowinstock.net. I'm getting quite a few every day. I'll check out Dallas Photo soon. Their website wasn't very helpful but I'll call them up and see if they can help out. Thanks again folks.

$1500 all around...your best bet is to buy online and out of state to avoid state sales tax

Well at least it's at MSRP now. Not too long ago, it wasn't unusual to find severely gouged prices so it's progress at least.

I just ordered one US model GH1 kit at $1230 after some cashback and ebay bucks from the seller "cameraland" on ebay. The seller lists the kit at buy it now price $1379 and accepts my best offer at $1300. This seller was mentioned in a thread in this forum. The feedback of this seller seems pretty good. I'll get the package on 11/28. Let's see how everything goes.

i can confirm this is true. they accepted my buy it now of $1279!

... such a great little camera
such a shame AVCHD is killing it off (sigh)

wake up panasonic!
the 7D is not as good a camera as the GH1 but it hold its price because you can
hand off files to client without a page of instructions!

I got my GH1 last Friday. The camera itself looks perfectly brand new. However, there is one problem with the warranty forms in the box. There are two warranty forms in the box, One is for Panasonic Latin America (excludes US territory), another one is in a white envelope and is a Panasonic Canada warranty form. No US warranty form there!!!
It seems pretty funny to me and I hope they just made a mistake when they shipped the camera out. Anyway, I sent a message to them and got replied that they will check this problem and provide some solution.
Did anyone here came across the same problem or just me?
Just let you know and let's see what is the result.

if the US warranty is a tri-fold mailer with a Denver, CO address on it, then i have it. It's a registration "please return within 10 days" document....otherwise i don't...got mine from Amazon.

This isn't going to help many people, but in the UK I've seen it for £999 as of October 2009.

Unfortunately not for sale online, only in a small town outside of London. Website here with contact details http://www.reflexcameras.co.uk/

For U.S. "It is not necessary to submit this form in order to effectuate the limited warranty." The 10 day thing is only if you want to be in the system and then buy an extended warranty. Usually when you buy over the counter they try to tell you that you have to buy the extended warranty there or you can't later on. Not true. That's what the registration card is for.

Worldwide registration thing, that paper you're talking about is necessary only if you're in the countries listed on that sheet and to submit if you want to have your warranty in effect.
