Who has free file hosting at FULL SIZE?

I used stickypod for clip hosting for the last two months (thanks stickypod) ... But now they've changed to this new format where all video and photos are sized to a tiny 4:3 window. And plus, there are ads all around.

So, stickypod is no longer usable for viewing clips of high res, 2:35to1 shaped video, (or other large formats such as uncompressed hi-def, etc), on a clean, separate white page.

Question to all users: Who has free file hosting which brings up your video full size and res on a clean, separate white or black page?

I've searched around a bit but I can't seem to find anything like the old version of stickypod.

Anyone?

stickypod was a good source for video hosting, unfortunately I don't know of any other place that hosts videos like them. you could post your video on putfile, put it wouldn't be full res.

Thanks guys ...
Anyone else?

(these sites) They're free, BUT...

1. putfile stinks, badly designed (plus they own whatever you upload)
2. stickypod is an ad site now with a forced resizing
3. Youtube compresses the crap out of everything
4. ifilm, atomfilm, and trigger street make you watch 300 ads and pass 20 skill testing questions before you can watch anything..

Man, do I ever appreciate the old version of stickypod, now! It was heaven. No resizing, brings up your video on a clean white page, huge gallery and upload sizes.
Boo Hoo! Why did they have to change!!

Is there anything else like it????

p.s. anyone else lamenting this?

i just upload my first post to stickpod before they changed anybody got any suggestion or more site let us know

peace n luv

Probably because bandwidth is expensive and they needed a way to recoup some of the costs.

If bandwidth was cheaper i would give all you accounts on my servers...

Just for downloading, you could use Megaupload.com, there the limit is 250 Megabytes. If you want unlimited, resumable space, then use allmediaserver.com and just put the price at 0.01$. But they charge for traffic when downloading, 2$ per Gigabyte.

I think the easter bunny and santa claus are getting together on a site where they pay you to host your full rez video files.

If your getting something for nothing, someone else is getting nothing for something.

struck a nerve

Wow, we really struck a nerve with that first video gallery. Good news for you, we are taking your suggestions and making them reality. Try one of your videos on the new video gallery. You will see that all QT and MP4 files open on a white screen just like you want. WMV files will open in the player.

There are no more embedded previews. You must click on the video link to see it. I like this idea better because it provides more control over our bandwidth. Instead of files automatically starting, they must be selected. Be sure to include a thumbnail for your vid.

Eyebite, as for the free video gallery with flash, Google is already doing this. Just go to video.google.com and upload away. The unfortunate side of using flash is the overall quality. Very small file sizes means very high compression and poor image quality. We are steering clear of this because we know you want high quality images for the web. Not to mention, not everything can be effectively converted to flash. From what I have heard, HD files are difficult to convert. I'm sure that will change soon or I'm getting bad info.

Matt, our video gallery has absolutely no ads on it at all. Our main site has some google ads, but the video gallery is clean. The only link is the banner at the top that takes you back to the main website.

webdog, we switched the gallery because of the poor user interface with the old version. For example, a user could not delete their own files. You are correct about the bandwidth, it is very expensive and could easily ruin a company in just a few days. That's why we have to stick to the policy of no hotlinking to public communities like "My Space, Yahoo, MSN, Bebo...."

blindbuzta, good job on finding some inexpensive webservers. The downside, as we found out the hard way, is the quality of the connection. If you want a great server host that runs fiber optic Cisco network switches, try Liquid Web. After trying many other services, these guys are years ahead of the competition.

ChrisForbes, great way to put it. You can no longer be called "grasshopper", you are the "master".

Just a side note, we created the video gallery so our customers have a place to post their videos, but we want to foster a relationship with all filmers. That's why we advertise on DVXuser and offer the video gallery to it's members. Anytime you want or need something, don't be afraid to ask. We listen to you and that's how we have become more and more reputable. We also go out of our way to make sure you understand that you can buy a Sticky Pod and return it for any reason if you're not satisfied (30 day limit). If you happen to break something in the first year (congratulations, that's hard to do), we will replace it under the warranty. I know that no other company will do this, but seriously, how can we expect you to know the product's limitations. Regardless of what you do, it's not your fault and we know that.

I hope I answered everyone's questions. It's been over 80 degrees here in Denver, that means it's time for videos. I'm taking my brand new Yamaha WR450F out on Saturday and do some riding (can't go crazy yet, I have to break in the engine) with a small video camera on my helmet :dankk2:

I have only heard negative things about stickypod hosting.
That's because we moved our gallery and it was painful for everyone. The move is over and we should move on to the future, not dwell on the past. In the end, the move will be better for everyone.

Well, I use DAP anyway, so nothing plays in my browser, it auto-downloads to the desktop, then I can view it in the external player.

If you have a Mac you can do this though (along with a number of other things) ;)
