to the op...i was looking on good tripods to get but i need something that will go to 20+ lbs. Satchlers and Vinten in that wieght range are out of my range :)...however the libec 450m (m for medium spreaders, u can get floor spreaders model also) comes in supporting 26lbs and gets an AWESOME review by Nigel Cooper who personally uses Vintens and compares the libec to both Vinten and Satchler. Thats saying alot. so thats the triopd i'm getting.

Highly doubt i'll be needing another tripod after that.

^ Yeah, I remember looking at the Libec tripod a while back. The problem I found with it was, it is only available through them or B&H. (Or stores that are located far) so, I wont be able to test it out, and if there is anything wrong or need parts, it has to be sent to them. Oh, and it does weight a bit more.

The payload is a lot better. Definitely in the right range for the cameras I will be using in September. Ill try to find a place nearby that has these in the store.

I havent made a 100% decision on whether I am getting the tripod or something else.

Looking at the poll results, the lighting kit came out to be the top choice. If I were to be getting a tripod, I know which I would get. But, I went with the top number of votes and looked at a light kit.

I found a Kino Flo 2 light kit for a reasonable price. I like those types of lights, but I dont know if the kit I found is good. What do you think?

*The problem with this one I just realized was its only one light. I would like to have at least two.

If going for a lighting kit, is this something I should be looking at or a different type of light kit?
