GH2 Which ONE GH3 new feature/spec is most important

The wifi features are the top for me. I bought a more expensive Android tablet than I otherwise would have had to, so I could have a full size SD card slot and play files on them. Now I'm getting an OTG cable so I can plug a small SD card reader into my Galaxy Nexus and watch playback on it. So I've been trying to do this with some success for a little while. Still, I'd leave the tablet at home most of the time. It may now become part of my camera bag with the GH3!

Headphone output and 3.5mm / 1.8" input is good. But I'll still have to use my Zoom H4n. I'll bring the output from it into the GH3. I'll probably put the headphones on the camera, though, instead of using a splitter cable coming out of the H4n's output. That way I know FOR SURE that the audio is being recorded to the memory card on the camera since on most jobs, I don't record audio on the H4n.

Battery grip will probably be cool. I don't know how it works exactly, though. Do you charge the grip itself, or do you put the batteries inside of it that you then have to charge separately??

And if the .mov h.264 footage holds up well, that will be another plus for me. I hate working with the AVCHD file structure and workflow.

Another kind of plus is that I'll have the GH3 and the GH2 to work with. I have a big HD ENG camera, but I almost never bring it as a b-cam. It just gets used for football broadcasting now. But I'll have the GH3 and 2 in the same bag, so I'll feel like doing a two camera shoot more often. The workflow might get messy on it, though, if I'm doing .mov h.264 on the GH3. Especially if I need to sync. Would that dewrapper application help there? I forgot the name.

Wireless is the most important. I want to be able to stream the Astro Photography I do to the kids tablets when the temps drop below freezing. They can be in bed and still see the universe while I freeze outside.

Then the 1080p @ 60 FPS is the next most important because I want to be able to shoot at one resolution and one frame rate for everything. The 40% slow motion is useless because you can always slow down in post and the 1080p @ 60 FPS mode retains the audio.

I also really want the electronic shutter. That will be great for weddings except that it won't do over ISO 1600. That is bad. Maybe a hack can fix that.

The one feature that tops all for me will be the Firmware updated properly, so we can ALL get the other missing features that we need.

The slomo is only useless to YOU!

60 fps is useless to ME.

I don't need, or often even want, audio during slomo, & would never consider 60 fps a universal frame rate as my projects are finished in 24p. 60p real-time doesn't convert to 24p real-time elegantly, either in frame rate, or motion blur.

Now if there was a 48 fps option I'd need to reconsider it for some work. Converting 48 to 24 is easy, & gives the editors some options, particularly with B-Roll, & all that is lost is some blur.

If we are able to switch to 50p that can be just as good of an option as 48p.

But a simple shift will give you 48p or 24p with a 4% audio change. I know this isn't a perfect solution but it has been done this way for years.

Everything about this camera is wonderful. Excellent video. But now that it takes good pictures as APS-C SLR'S. I'm investing again. I think I'll pass on a FF to invest in more Panasonic lenses.

For me... I HOPE that you can monitor the 60p footage with an external HD monitor and I hope that you can Monitor HD when the teleconverter is plugged in. Anyone know if these two are possible?

What exactly does electronic shutter mean/ do?? I've been using this camera since it came out for professional video, but I still don't know what electronic shutter means or would accomplish. lol.

A mechanical shutter means there is a piece of metal between the lens and the imager, which opens for a fraction of a second to 'expose' the scene.

Electronic shutter simply means there is no mechanical device, the 'exposure' is controlled electronically.

The GH2 has an electronic shutter.
