Which is superior in terms of video, 6D or 5d MK II?

Which has worse aliasing? Better codec? Same DOF I assume? Any crop factor in 6D I see in test videos it seems a bit more zoomed in for some odd reason.

A Panasonic GH3 or Sony A99 would be better much alternatives to consider, in my opinion.

If you are invested in Canon lenses, another option would be to simply wait a few more months until the 7D Mark II comes out in the Fall.

Apparently the 6D has the worst moire of any of the Canon DSLRs. I wouldn't even consider it.

To whom was that apparent? Why?

The 6D sensor is just a hair smaller than the 5diii's sensor. No real difference between the 6d and 5diii in video, certainly not $1000 worth, or whatever the difference is now. I suppose if you call yourself professional then you'll need to pay more because that's simply what pros do. Stills may have an advantage but it's not in quality, it's in ease of use and frankly, I think the 6d's AF is better. Less complicated and better.

You can stick a strong ND filter on, shoot auto ISO to maintain your frame rate, and easily go from shot to shot with any DOF you want. It's lighter and easier to handle than the 5diii. The 6d has gotten a bad rap because of its low price and the glib wifi and gps features.

In terms of comparison to the 5dii, it's an easy call.

The moire and aliasing on the 6d is really bad. For me, the difference is easily worth the grand.
