C200: Which Glidecam to choose: DGS or new HD-PRO?

Hey guys,

I'm looking at purchasing a Glidecam for the C200 and 5D Mark IV.

I've been eyeing the Devin Graham Signature model for awhile now but noticed recently that Glidecam has released the new HD-PRO version.

DGS weight capacity is 2-12lbs

HD-PRO is 0-10lbs

Other than the weight and the movable gimbal on the DGS, they seem to be pretty much the same.

Will it be worth it for me to spend a little extra for the DGS?

(I'm not able to try before I buy...)

Depends on what you're wanting. If you don't need the adjustable gimbal and the 10 pound limit is fine, go with the HD Pro. If you think you might be pushing 12lbs and want to do underslung shots, get the DGSS. I have the DGSS for my Ursa Mini. I love it, but I'm about 2 lbs over the limit with my battery, so I had to modify mine a little to keep the gimbal from slipping. Also had to buy a vest and arm for it too due to the weight.

I can only recommend the dgss glidecam so much. It’s an amazing piece of gear, but it gets heavy real fast. I’m really torn between getting a bigger 3 axis gimbal or to just pick up a vest.
