Which GH2 kit to purchase?

I was just trying to figure out which GH2 kit to purchase. I have tried the pancake and kit lens with the GH1. Both were great, even though the kit lens was slow and not very useable indoors.

So for the GH2, what would you guys recommend?

14-140 + 20 1.7
or
14-42 + Voigtlander 25 0.95

I also already own a Cannon 50 FD 1.4 S.S.C. Havent had much luck with manual focus though, but could get better with practice.

I will be using the GH2 for photo and video equally. I will be shooting mostly indoor videos of the family and my newborn. Some outdoor school sports stuff. I have a gini rig shoulder mount and could always invest in a follow focus, not sure if that would be overkill for my use though. I doubt I will ever do any paid gigs.

The 14-140 would be great for your outdoor needs and either the 20mm pancake or the Voigtlander would work well indoors. It looks like your glass budget is about $1k? I'm not sure if a 14-42 / Voigtlander combo would make sense for you, unless you really don't need tele length for your sports events. The Voigtlander does look wicked, but remember it is manual focus as well.

It sounds like the 14-140 and 20mm pancake might be the most well rounded lens pair for you.

I have both the 14-140mm lens and the 20mm lens. The 10x lens is perfect for shooting in situations that has a lot of light and when the lights go down, that's when I put the 20mm lens on. Now if I had the spare cash, I'd also get the 25mm lens. The demand for that lens is huge.

I am leaning towards the 20 1.7 + 14-140 combo for sure.

However, I have also considered other possibilities.

20 1.7 + Panny 45-200 + Olympus 14-54 Zuiko II with autofocus.

I like the fact that the Olympus lens is faster than the 14-140. It seems like a great everyday lens. And then I can use the 45-200 for the tele, fast autofocus and OIS.

Wow, I just came up with that combo when replying, I think I'm liking it! What do you guys think, does it beat the 20 1.7 + 14-140 combo??? Is the 14-140 really "all that" for video vs. the rest.

I really wish I knew for sure if Panasonic was coming out with a bright zoom, that would make this a mute topic. I would just buy that and a pancake and be done. Come on Panasonic, hurry up and give us what we want!!!
