GH3 Which Flycam to buy for GH3?

I want to buy a Flycam and there are two options, the Flycam Nano or the Flycam DSLR...

The small price difference is no problem, but which one is the most suitable for a GH3 + a pancake lens?
Most shots on the Flycam will be done 'wide', so either the 14mm or the 20mm pancake which I'm planning to buy. The total weight will then be 550 grams + 100 grams for the lens.
It's close to the max. that the Flycam nano is designed for (700 grams). The DSLR version can carry up to 3 kg.

What is the best option here to get the best 'balance'?

Bonus question: The Pancakes have no Image Stabilizer, right? Is that a problem for doing steadycam shots?

I have used both the Flycam Nano and Steadicam Merlin, my favorite is the Merlin by far. Once you learn how to balance it, it can be done in a matter of minutes. Super steady, and more ergonomic (the weight is centered better, less fatigue). You can rent both and try them out and see what one you like best.

Image stabilization helps, but it's not a huge difference when you're shooting that wide. I've heard people RAVE about the Olympus 12mm F2.0 for the GH2 / 3 and steadycam work.

Thanks Erik, but the Merlin Steadicam is too expensive for me. That's why I narrowed it down to the Flycam Nano and Flycam DSLR. :)

Have you considered the Wondlan Magic Carbon Fiber stabilizer? I've been using his over the past year with the Lumix 14mm and think I have it down now. I powered through much frustration learning how to run it. Some latest samples from my YT channel:

Get a used Glidecam 2000 Pro, or if you have a little extra cash, an HD-2000. I haven't used the Flycam, but the Glidecam 2000 series is in your price range. I love my 4000.

I have the flycam nano and Im using it with a 60D and a zenitar 16. After a lot of practice it can get the job done but it needs much more time to stabilize than a glidecam HD2000 which Ive used several times. The micro adjustment knobs just make a huge difference and make your life easier if you need to set it up fast. Of course its much more expensive but if you re planning to use it often I think it really worth it...

I've owned the Merlin and Nano and I much prefer the Nano.... it doesn't get blown around crazy in the wind like the Merlin, and because it doesn't bow out like the merlin I don't hit things in cramped places like I did with the Merlin.

Well I have the Flycam DSLR + the GH2 and it is a pain in the @ss to balance it. My advice, take the Wodlan Carbon Fiber or the Glidecam 2000. Also you are going to need as much wider lenses you can buy. More beautiful and less trembling shots with wider lenses. I suggest the Panasonic 7-14mm or the Olympus 9-18mm. Also you must buy the arm rest, because after 5 mins your arm is in great pain.
