Which Canon T2I package to get?

I was looking to get a Canon 7D but now that the new T2I has come out, I'm thinking of getting this one instead.

Henry's here in Toronto now stocks different T2I packages but I wanted to know from more experienced Canon and DSLR users which package should I get.

I'm going to be using the T2I mostly as a 2nd camera for my documentary. It will be used for close ups on faces, hands, secondary shots, time lapse shots, interior/exterior shots in a SUV etc. Not a lot of audio to be used with this camera either (at this point) but mostly for shots where it's going to be tight to use my HVX200 (and I want to take advantage of the DOF from the T2I as well).

Another option would be to get the T2I body only and pick up a Canon EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS lens. Would it be worth getting this lens over one of the other ones offered in the package(s) though if I'm only using this camera as a secondary camera? Is it overkill?

Maybe getting one of the packages with a Canon 50mm 1.8 lens as well would suffice too, I don't know.

Any help or tips for this would be greatly appreciated.

I see there are other threads on here for the same topic, no problem at all.

Here's a question then if anyone can help out:

Should I splurge to get a Canon EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS lens (the T2i will be my secondary camera for filming) or get a Sigma 17-70mm F2.8-4.5 MACRO lens?

The Sigma, while not as good the the Canon 17-55mm, is almost 1/3 the price (I can get it here in Toronto for $450). It doesn't have the I/S on it but I would the 17-55mm be too much or overkill as a lens for a secondary camera?

Any tips or help appreciated for sure. I have to make up my mind as well soon as there is a 17-55mm lens on sale here and I'm picking up the T2i this week too.
