**Which cameras have you owned or used?**

But what if a person's work is 100% indoor interviews...what would built-in NDs do for him or her? You know?

Not saying mine is or was, but it's like if I was filming a talk show every day on a tripod...why would I need IBIS? Or 4K/240fps?

Features' relevancy is dependent on the end-user.

I’ve had to roll ND in many, many times indoors so that I could open up, depending on the environment, background, etc.

I understand. It was just an example in which I didn't elaborate to include the specific conditions (ones not including windows or bright lights where you would never use ND and instead require a bump in the ISO) and assumed the reader would grasp the thought-process.

The worst camera purchases I've made:
Panasonic AF100. It just let me down on IQ.

The best camera purchases I've made:
Canon 5D mkIII. It worked great for years and was a joy to use before I sold it.
Sony FS7. Still going strong after +4 years.

Other cameras I liked:
Fujifilm X100T. Great looking pictures in a compact body.
Panasonic GH1. Really liked the features and IQ at the time.
Sony F3. This was a serious camera with a superb IQ.
Sony A7RIII. Great AF and IQ.
Sony FS5. Becomes more and more enjoyable to use over time.

This was my first....

I've never owned a movie camera, always rented or used production company/broadcaster equipment. The first camera I used on a professional job was an Arri35-BL4, the most recent a Panasonic EVA1.

The worst camera purchases I've made:
Panasonic AF100. It just let me down on IQ.

Funny, I replaced an original Red One with an AF100 back when computers were still too slow for same day turnaround.

The AF100 paid for itself the first week I owned it and continued to generate revenue for me until I sold it to it's second owner.

Really! Are we going down this path. It all started in the mid sixties. Makes me feel like a dinosaur looking at my list :)

Owned plus some others. I can't recall the model numbers of the missing ones. Cameras are in no particular order other than from memory!

Trouble is some of the code is missing. There are three cameras in my mind and I can see them all but cannot for the life of me remember the model numbers. One was a small Sony single CCD camera that ran a 10 pin cable to a VTR. Awesome for small spaces. Remember jamming in behind a crane operator in a tower crane to get POV shots down to the unloading of a ship. In fact I can't even remember where and when I let that go?:(

Actually it wasn't a funny experience at all. Just frustrating as it never gave me what I wanted.

Actually it wasn't a funny experience at all. Just frustrating as it never gave me what I wanted.

Mine gave me exactly what I wanted, a fist full of dollars.

I used it on mostly tier 3 automotive where it really didn't need to match the quality level of the tier 1 work I was doing at the time.

In order of owning:

Panasonic HVX200
Canon 7D
Canon 1D Mk IV (sold it because I didn't like the moire at the time)
Canon 5D Mk III (kept it for stills)
Sony FS700
Panasonic GH4
Panasonic GH5 (current main video cam)

Started with a Sony VX1000 and VX200.
Several hi-8s
Panasonic HVX 200
HPX 170
HPX250
Sony A7SII
Sony A7III
Multiple Nikon DSLRs through the years.
