hey, im planning on shooting a fishing programme in the UK with the aim for broadcast...
HD is a must for the broadcasters so which camera+format (Tape/solid state) do you guys feel would be best for the job (rental)
Depends if you want to go solid state or tape, as you said. I find a good hybrid is the Sony Z7. HD, progressive scan, will go onto tape and/or compact flash card. Yes, its still HDV but people have been handling HDV fine for years with the Z1. Its not *that* bad.
Its a great camera. Where abouts are you in the UK, maybe we could meet up and you could have a go on my Z7.
Hi Finchy,
I have used a Panasonic DVX100 for the last couple of years for straight to DVD fishing related films here in Australia,
I have just lashed out and bought the panasonic HPX172 with a view to going Broadcast. Doing a fishing vid in Papua New Guinea in May, which will be the first with the new camera and P2 workflow.
Here is link to some of the fish I have been getting lately, not sure if they stack up against roach and perch, check the link out if you want. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=myZYiiF50sw
