FS7: Which brushless gimbals work well with the FS7?

Could you share more detailed experience? It sounds like advertising for a company which is a dealer for various brands like Came, DJI, MOZA, MÖVI etc.. ?

I reckon you might JUST be onto something there Clermond ... 1 post history, from "DaCameraGuy" ?!?!? :-D LOL

No, you can mount it normally, but you need to add base plate (add some wheight 300g) like kessler quick release because there isn't enought screw at the bottom of FS7 or hélix standard plate is too short (even hélix heavy plate is too small, you can mount your FS7 with only one screw). My goal is keep rig lighter as possible and well attached.

would you list all the required parts and the additions to be able to put the FS7 on the Helix _please ?
There is so many options there .....
Also is there any user who wish to sale the Helix JR or Helix classic ?

With Hélix standard (with two optional power distribution) you only need small vertical rod 15mm to mount fs7 viewfinder, and one d-tap to ac cable to power FS7 and helix with V-mount batterie. of course one vmount batterie.

If you want install SmallHD501, you need Pan/Tilt Mount • For 500 Series accesorie + piece of gear smallrig cold shoes to mount it. You need cables from letus: D-Tap to lemo (for power all the rig from Vmount batterie) an lemo to ac cable for power FS7 from hélix optional power, an lemo to LP-E6 canon to power smallHD501 from Helix optional power and one HDMI to HDMI to plug SmallHD to Fs7.

Over all I was happy

Yes of course. Im not really sure of the other gimbals you mentioned above. However One issue that I was having is with a camera like the FS7 due to its elongated shape it was very difficult finding a Gimbal. From reaserch on the net i found Helix, ronin and Omniview gimbals were the on one's that could handle the weight and the FS7 shape. Due to price i decided to with Omniview tech. Their gimbal gives me enough room to mount all my stuff like monitor , Mic, follow focus (lenzHound), follow focus thumb wheel. That is the reason I went with Omniview, from a scalability perpective it seemed to be the best choice.

I only have one post since I came across this thread and wanted to lend a hand to people looking for a gimbal for fs7. Lol
and I'm not sure about any other gimbal I have only tried gimbals that coud fit the FS7 I tried Ronin but that thing weighs alot and u need to buy extra long roll arm to extend it to fit the FS7. The helix will work at least from what I read o the net only thing is no room to mount anything. For someone like me (one man show) I need room to mount accessories.

Sure thing, apologies for doubting your authenticity. Could you post some photos of your Omniview setup with the FS7?

Cheers,

Thank you very much !

I also wonder about the viability of the CAME-TV 8000. I have the 7800 and it performs very well with the A7SII. Their software has been proven to work well. I think the 8000 just has upgraded motors and a bit of a bigger frame size.

lighter with A7RII and very good AF with Batis 25mm. Everything is powered by Hélix battery.
I asked to sony why when we plug smallHD monitor we can't use face detection in 4K. I hope sony can resolve this via firmware.
I use same BGC software setting than FS7 without any problems.
For powering A7RII i removed lemo protection of hélix NP-FW50 to 2 pin connector dongle because there isn't enought space to plug it. Make shure you nerver inverse polarity. (white cable on red dot optional power plugs).

Sorry for the delay, i have been busy and didn't check the forum. i took a quick Picture of the gimbal and my FS7, i didnt set up the Follow focus and Monitor but u can see there is enough space to for a lot of stuff on it. The gimbal has a joystick on it and has built in Bluetooth to control it wireless using your phone. i dont tend to use those features my self as im a one man show but if you have a team i could see it come in handy. The gimbal uses 3S Lipo batteries, i have a bunch of 3200Mah which tent to give me about 5-6 hours of run time. The company i got this gimbal from did mention with a 5000Mah you can get about 8-10 Hours of run time.
In this case i used a big battery for the FS7 (BP-U90) but the smaller batteries seem to work fine as well.
The gimbal uses SimpleBGC to program, so if your familiar with that program you can tune it to your liking. i have used simple BGC my self so i ended up making my own profile to better suit my needs in terms of speed and follow modes.

Another succeful setup with a Ronin M (Way lighter to carry around compare to Ronin full size) and also easier to drop in a bage.
The right handle is the one from Sony, so you can control most of the camera order without the help of an second operator.
camera-for-hire-cameraman-4k-shooter-shanghai-hong-kong.jpg

Also, the top plate is modified, so the same handle can be use on the gimbal and on the camera for a very fast switch between configuration
The screen also move from the camera to the top of the ronin. Only one screen, only one handle... lot of room in your bag!

I have a plate to connect it to the vinten tripod without any need for switching it.
