Hi all,

I desperately need a bag preferably a backpack/roller (have a spine condition so carrying by hand is not ideal) and I have been looking at these 3 bags:

Sachtler Airflow Backpack

Sachtler Roller/backpack

Pelican 1510 with the rucpack conversion

Im looking to fit in shoulder rig parts, Glidecam Devin Graham Series (ideally set up already without having to dismantle it but ok if I have to), Canon c100, PAnasonic Gh4, Samyang 16mm+35mm cine Lenses and Nikon 50mm/24mm AIS lenses.

I want to be able to shoot and go with bag on back but the option to use roller is appealing if I get tired.

not bothered about airports as I barely leave the country.

What do you guys think?

Thanks

Pelican cases are great but really heavy and somewhat overpriced. If you are set on a hard case, look into the Storm cases. They generally weigh less, cost less yet still provide all of the protection of a Pelican case. I have both and would never buy Pelican again, the Storms are just better for the money. My main carrying case is a Cinebags CR25 backpack, it's been great. Those Sachtlers look nice but I have no personal experience with them. Personally, I just pre-build my camera now at the office before the shoot, put it behind the front seat in my car and grab it when I arrive to location. That way I am ready to shoot (at least as far as camera setup) as soon as I arrive, I found that clients seemed to get impatient when it took me 20 minutes to mount the camera to the camera base, insert rods, mount the Ninja Blade, balance it all out, etc. so I just do that at the office now before leaving. I use the Cinebags when I fly or at the end of the shoot, when I have time to actually break down the camera. So having the Cinebags has been valuable to me, but interestingly, for local shoots now, I rarely use it, I just build and hand carry the big awkward setup in and plop it onto my Sachtler tripod. The whole having a camera case thing only comes into play when I am traveling.
