where to get GH2 in Hong Kong

Currently there is a major shortage of GH2 in HK.
You can try the shops in MongKok, Sai Yeung Choi St.

And also the Sim City Shopping mall at MongKok, ShanTung St. 47-51.
The entrance is small and easy to miss, but there are quite a few stores up stairs that specialized in different Brands.
Usually their will give you a discount if you pay cash. Credit card usually adds 4-5% on top of the cash price.

If you want to find other accessories (adapter ring, CCTV lens and other stuffs that you see on Ebay),
you have to go to the stores in Apliu St. at Sham Shui Po.

Just go through A2 exit of the Sham Shui Po MTR station and you are there.
But remember to check the prices from different stores, cause they can be quite different.

For used items, you can go to Champagine Court at TST.

Wish you good luck in your GH2 hunt.

thanks, yes am looking also for different adapters for contax, leica.olympus and fd lens would like to know where to get them in HK

I wasn't able to find adapters for fd lenses when I was in HK. Went to all the major shops but none of them stocked it. Best chance was Tin Cheung Camera but they didn't have it :( But they had a ton of other used equipment. I even went to check out the fake camera stores... idiots tried to sell me a m4/3 to EOS mount.

For various body/len adapters, I advice not to go to Sim City in MongKok as the prices there are much higher than those stories in Apliu St at Sham Shui Po. I recommend Hang Lee near Nam Cheong Street for they have lots of varieties of adapters for different bodies and lens

How is the GH2 availability (looking for English language version) in Hong Kong shops for next week, maybe Voigtlander 25mm as well. Any suggestions?

thanks ed, yes looking for the Gh2 body only if possible, my brother in town next week. Any stores with vintage c mounts (nikkor, kern switar ) at reasonable prices?
tin Cheung does not even list GH cameras on site.

i'm in South Africa

I only know of one place, it is in 'Sim City' mall, just down the road from Wing Shing - near the crossroads of Sai Yeung Choi St. and Shantung St. Think it was on the 2/f. Store mainly sells vintage lenses so he can't miss.
There's another group of shops in Champagne Court off Kimberly Road in Tsim Sha Tsui, but they mainly sell vintage photography lenses

At leat in Jan and mid Feb it was nearly impossible to get a GH2 in HK.
In Jan finally we bought it in one of the tourist shops in Tsim Sha Tsui ( they had 2) and lucky we was not cheeted. Be careful there.

The aditional lenses we bought in the Mong Kok computer centrre. There are 3 prof shops selling Panasonic cams and lenses as well as adapter.
Last time when I was in HK the told us they will get new GH2 deliver Mid March.
Of cause Fostress as the biggest media delaer in HK is the most save
Reminder, official Panasonic cams comes with the green Pana warrenty card at a little higher price and whole China Macau HK warrenty.
Grey import has only warrenty in the shop.
And HK is PAL country so you get a 24P/ 50i version

Any news to get a GH2 in HK?
I will be there next week. Are the prices so cheap?

Thanks

did you find a good price? I really want the gh2 and my brother is in hk in 1 month. But I checked prices online its arround 12 500 hk $.
Has somebody a good idea :-)

What is if you buy it in usa and send it to hk. are there special taxes like in europe?

Many friends ask me where to buy 'cheap' cameras in Hong Kong. Truth is, prices are quite comparable to those in the West. Although we have no import duties, prices are deliberately marked up for Mainland Chinese tourists - our city's big source of income. And also remember we sell PAL cameras.

I got my GH2 body for HK$8,000.

Tin Chueng http://www.tincheungcamera.com.hk/ is a great place to gauge street prices. But I just searched and couldn't find any GH2...
