Where to download "fresh" footage?

Hi, I'm looking to pick up a 7D, but I do a lot of action-genre work and you got it, the rolling shutter is on my mind. Second thing on my mind is to see just how well my laptop will be able to handle this supposedly killer AVCHD codec, and to see how difficult it would be to do the proxy workflow workaround with it.

Is there a site to download unedited footage? Most every video on vimeo has been put through a timeline and re-rendered and so there's just so many variables after that. I'm not even sure if vimeo itself applies another compression upon the file after its been uploaded, you know?

I've gone to Best Buy, but the battery was dead. Sigh.

Thanx. Are you sure that vimeo doesn't apply their own compression onto the file? I always wondered because of the filename change you get when you download it.
