I agree with the other guy, DO NOT buy from SaferSeas. I've been waiting for 5 weeks for shipment and they are intentionally avoiding my e-mails.

They claim there is a nationwide shortage from Panasonic and "everybody is waiting."

update: they prefered to give me a refund rather than actually ship the camera. what a waste of 5 weeks!

I just purchased my DVX100A from Rush at EVS. It was a great experience that was effortless and hassle free. Even though you can find it cheaper, EVS's price was competitive and I was wanting to get mine from an authorized dealer. They had it in stock and shipped it immediately. Now the work is up to me. My vote goes to EVS.

Ditto that about SaferSeas. I did get a mic I ordered there a while back but it was like pulling teeth to get it. I've also seen very negative things about these guys on other forums. In a word, they SUCK.

Yes sir we sure are authorized, based in the 19020 area code (In Bensalem, PA), meaning the whole company and both locations are authorized... ;D

Got mine from Inoax.com. Sealed in the Panasonic box, all included accessories, $3088.00. Ordered on Tuesday for ground, they said it would be 7 -10 days and it actually arrived 3 days later on Friday. I'm in Detroit so I took it across the water to Windsor ( the nearest authorized dealer ) and had it checked out to make sure it was the real McCoy. AG DVX100AP I'm pleased

Hey guys, new to the forum, it's great! Spent the last 2 days scouring the site, fantastic stuff.

Just a new proud owner of a baby 100a. But my heart dropped when I read Barry's comment aboug buydig. I just got the camera and tested it last night, seems to be ok, factory sealed with warranty inside. Should I be worried? Cuz I am a little anxious now ???

Buydig has many very satisfied customers. They are not an authorized reseller, but that doesn't necessarily mean that they are thieves or sharks. Many people seem quite pleased with them.

I don't know the full extent of any warranty issues you may face, that's a question Jan at Panasonic could answer. If you got it from Buydig, I expect that it probably was a new, factory-sealed unit. Just not through authorized channels is all.

Thanks for the reassurance, Barry. I think it's all good, seems to operate correctly based on my use of other dvx's. Just the paranoia in me :P. I did get ripped off with the 2800 battery, so I'm returning that sucker and hopefully buying one off of this site.

I picked up all my gear from B&H, there service is good and they deliver fast, I would have gone with EVS but the B&H site hade more of what I needed to buy and that way I saved a bundle on shipping to canada by packaging it together. My cousin lives in LA though and I sent him to Rush at EVS he picked up the dvx yesterday and had great service from Rush. when I was At EVS in March they let me play with the dvx in there showroom and check out what I needed to see. If I was going just for the dvx EVS would have been the place for me because the service is great. But B&H was profesional and prompt.

Thanks for sending your cousin to us, and I am glad we were able to take care of him sir. I do agree B&H has a fantastic site, and serves as a powerful model for us to look to.

If EVS had a website like B&H's, I doubt I'd ever shop at B&H again, all my business would go to EVS.

Thanks, we got several great people working on it everyday now, and one of them is really hot and heavy into cleaning up code and making sure everything always works very well. Our webmaster is always looking for new ways to trim and streamline the site, and the teamwork between him and the boss is just beautiful to watch. In about a year you should see incredible changes. The best thing about it is that they listen to all of our and your suggestions. ;D

You can also check with the better business bureau; SAFER SEAS, for example, has had 13 claims against them in 36 months; 8 of those claims went unanswered.
