Click on the "Find a Dealer" button in the "How to Buy" box. You can also use this to check and see whether your online dealer is authorized or not. Just be sure to get their zip code and check before you decide to buy.
No amount of savings is worth going to an unauthorized dealer. Especially since Panasonic may not honour the warranty.
Go with a dealer you trust, LIKE, and can develop a good working relationship with.

...is a gray market dealer. They are not authorized by Panasonic to carry the DVX, and they don't get their cameras from Panasonic.

Someone should write a little code that automatically inserts this sentance (with appropriate grey market company name at the beginning) each time someone asks this question...
Well I don't know if they are grey market or authorised by Panasonic but I got mine from www.globalmediapro.com and had no problems. Good prompt service. I also get all my tape stock and batteries from there.
Here's two great resources for broadcast quality equipment.
Custom Supply of Birmingham, AL. at:http://www.mediasupplystore.com
Its a "box house", but they will usually beat any B&H price and with a lower shipping cost too. I buy most of my high end lighting and audio gear there. They have great prices on DVX and are a USA Panasonic dealer.
or if you want great customer service and a very knowledgeable sales staff check out ProSource in CT. http://prosourcebmi.com I bought my DVX from them. at a higher than a USA "discount" price, but I know they will support their customers "150%" with any problems.
I dunno if anyone knows of Broadway Photo www.bwayphoto.com but they have the DVX-100A for $2999. My ex co worker bought a VX2000 form there and had no problems..just thought I would add that and hope it helps someone...
Well Lee i am sorry for chiming in..Im new to the site and my company BrainWork Media Owns a DVX-100 that was purchased by my partner.....I was just mearly saying you can get it at that site for that price..and yes i was leary at first of the site.. I doo agree...but my ex co worker bought his VX-2000 there and was worried he wouldnt get everything that the manufacture supplied but he did..Im sorry for suggesting this place...noone has to take my advice on anything..Im not commanding anyone to "buy there now"! or anything. I just thought this thread was about "where to buy a DVX at a good price" and thats all i was suggesting. SO to sum it up for ya...I just heard that Broadway Photo was a good place to buy cams and had a good price on them to boot! Also i might add they have been advertised in some Magazines (i forgot which one mayb DV mag) and thats where i first heard of them.
Since purchasing a dvx100a camcorder I've occasionally visited the dvxuser site to see what I can learn--after all it does claim to be "The" online community for dvx users.
I didn't realize until now how resentful some of you might be towards unregistered guests offering opinions or observations that vary with your own experience.
