Where should i go this summer?

16 eh? Wow, well if you have the chance take the trip!

Yes, bring plenty of it if you plan to wander around outside. Some places are worse than others of course but generally speaking it's a wise precaution. Taking a boat around the coast is great fun if you have the cash. Of course, the "touristy" things only offer so much entertainment. What's really fun is to hang out with the locals for a while since life there is so radically different than nearly all the US (and thus so are the people). It definitely makes the trip memorable. ;)

You might want to leave the "fiance" behind [your both way to young to be engaged - not that your asking for marital advice] if you have a month or so New Zealand is one big Kodak moment. It's about the same size as California with a very diverse climate and topoplogy.

Good luck - have fun

Thanks alot for your input all, i appreciate it more than you know, and im terribly sorry ChuckS but leaving my, as you say, "fiance" behind is simply not an option. Im terribly sorry thats the way you feel but it really doesnt affect my situation in life, thanks alot for your idea of new zealand, that was one of my main picks anyway.

Wow.. Scandinavia got pops too? cool .. Finland kicks Sweden's butt :-P

Ok, first thing: Alaska is not a frozen hell hole! (except Fairbanks in the winter) We don't live in igloos or take a dogsled to work. Most places in Alaska sit at a comfterble around 80 degrees in the middle of summer, and have been known to get up over 90 (I know, it's not "hot" but it isn't cold either!)
So no worries for those who fear the cold in the summer.

Bring bug spray for interioir Alaska - the mosquito is oftern refered to as the state bird. (it's not really*that* bad).
And bring some rain gear for Southeast Alaska - it can sometimes be a bit damp, also in the summer (esp in Ketchikan).

The only other adivce I can give for visiting Alaska is be aware of the very real danger of never coming home. (I know many people who went to AK on vacation years ago and never left.)

I'd go to Disneyland. Never got to go as a kid.

LOL Don't worry Isaac you didn't miss much. Disney is the most boring Theme Park ever. (Unless you get drunk, which can be very expensive in Disney.) If your gunna go to a theme park go to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure.

True, disney is a complete letdown plus they own the land around them for quite a while so its actually considered the "town" of disney or as we locals call it the town of the 7 dollar soda!

yeah disney if you like to do lines...... SOUTH AFRICA photo safari, totally awesome photos animals big animals. the people, the classes, the friction feels like it's going to explode. it's wild man. i met a man on the plane going back who was a bodyguard for the president of S.A. THE STORIES HE TOLD ME WHEN he was a rebel training in CUBA and in LIBYA and how he met QADFI(SP) NEW ZEALAND is kool i heard, nepal too,too bad about tibet

If you want a different cultural experience (without spending $2000 for gasoline to get there and back) try the Pueblos of New Mexico and the Chacoan culture that spread throughout that area and southwestern Colorado. Start in Albuquerque and visit Petroglyph, Acoma, the Pueblo Cultural center and then go North to Chaco Canyon. Later go to Aztec and then north to Mesa Verde. When you finish up there go back south to Taos Pueblo and the visit the cluster of 9 or so Pueblos located around Santa Fe. Vist Pecos National Monument, Bandalier National Monument. And if you really want some great stuff head up to Arizona to Canyon de Chelly and Monument Valley. Take lots of water, batteries, and MQ tape.
